The hip-hop/electro duo whose name has been on the tip of everyone's tongues, since the release of their 2007 single Thou Shalt Always Kill. Sounding like a head on collision between The Streets, Goldie Lookin' Chain and Kieran Hebden's Fourtet, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip manage to mix coolness, humour and wry commentry with some highly original material.

'Perfectly formed pop' (Bugbear). A band who manage to do something new with the rock sound. Their music is unusual and boundary pushing, but luckily they have the technical prowess to pull it off, sometimes mastering kitchen utensils as well as more standard instruments.

A kaleidoscope of cut and paste sounds and old skool beats, combined with some chilled vocals, The Go! Team have been building up legions of avid fans over the last year or so. The fact that a fifteen minute power failure in the middle of their headlining set on Glastonbury's John Peel stage failed to deter any of the crowd should tell you all you need to know about their live performances. Imagine Saint Etienne and Grandmaster Flash playing recorders and other school-music-cupboard instruments and you're somewhere close. Superb.

From Liverpool UK with a glam-rock-boogie-vibe, this band are from the same stable that produced The Coral. However their second album "Tired Of Hanging' Around", showcases a new, heavier, beefier sound. Expect an improved, confident musicianship of five people with more soul than previously demonstrated on their debut record, during which they were still finding their feet. Frustrated but energised, jet-lagged yet raring to go, The Zutons are back with a big, ballsy album brimming with urgent saxophone and meaty riffs; swampy rhythms and pop to jump around to.
