More Information

Captain (1) -

Five severely mismatched characters bent on making original music, and a view to counteracting the countless haircut bands of today. Formed in Cricklewood, the quintet of strangers from wildly different backgrounds have quickly taken the world by storm, being 'as comfortable with pop as they are with vast soundscapes'.

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong -

Joe Lean is just one of the alter egos of Joe Beaumont, the drummer from The Pipettes, aka actor Joe Van Moyland. The Jing Jang Jong are set to be his most successful project with their brand of catchy indie-pop. Definitely one to watch out for at a small venue before they become huge!

Kate Nash -

Like a cross between Amy Winehouse and Lilly Allen, only with more balls, Kate Nash makes trashy kitchen-sink pop with hints of Regina Spektor and Tori Amos. '…the quintessential suburban teen female with a gutful of gripes about bad boyfriends and even worse girlfriends...' – Guardian Unlimited

The Holloways -

Stop-start cheeky street-urchin punk from The Holloways, who are based, of course, in Holloway. Distorted guitars and retro stylings are combined with whimsical fiddle and a naughty attitude and it's that combination of forthright cheekiness and romance that has won The Holloways their fame.

The Script -

The Script are an Irish trio (Danny: vocals, Mark: guitar, Glen: drums) whose music boasts the kind of artful twists sure to turn all preconceptions on their head. This is a whole new brand of Celtic Soul, blending hip hop lyrical flow with pop melodiousness, state-of-the-art R'n'B production with anthemic rock dynamics, classic song construction with gritty contemporary narratives.

The Young Knives -

A three-pronged vocal attack and catchy guitars & drums are the bread and butter of The Young Knives, formerly known as The Pony Club. Quirky, spazzy and poppy, the threesome are as eccentric as they are prolific.

Babel -

A folky five piece band whose strong songwriting has been getting them airplay on XFM.

Team Waterpolo -

Team Waterpolo claim their influences as Deftones, Beastie Boys, Muddy Waters, the Beatles, the Avalanches, System Of A Down, A Tribe Called Quest, At The Drive-In, Howlin' Wolf, the Beach Boys, Incubus, Wu-Tang Clan, Rage Against The Machine, Weezer, Radiohead and the Go! Team. Team Waterpolo create harmony-drenched, sampladelic power pop.
