The most accomplished interpretive folksinger of the 1960s, Joan Baez has influenced nearly every aspect of popular music in a career still going strong. Baez is possessed of a once-in-a-lifetime soprano, which, since the late '50s, she has put in the service of folk and pop music as well as a variety of political causes.

One of the long-forgotten names of classic rock; this quirky and eccentric folk-influenced progressive rock band are back after several years in the wilderness.

Suzanne Vega -

New York singer/songwriter, Suzanne hit the charts on both sides of the Atlantic in the mid-80s. Along with artists like Tracy Chapman, she set the groundwork for female singer/songwriters working a stylish literary folk genre. Her cool minimal sound and bitter-sweet lyrics continues to haunt the British music scene today.

The London Community Gospel Choir -

Whether recording World Cup anthems and the soundtrack for The Lion King, or appearing at Glastonbury, the London Community Gospel Choir has been an inspiration for more than 25 years. Combining rich harmonies and invigorating vocal gymnastics, the LCGC is an infectious celebration of gospel, swing-beat, R'n'B and soul.

Tom Baxter -

A singer/ songwriter with distinctive lyrical and descriptive songs that he delivers in an intimate and personal way, Tom Baxter's songs are a musical reflection of real life. In a refreshing break from the norm, Tom Baxter sings it like he means it. After a legendary residency at Bush Hall in Shepards Bush in 2003, he was signed to Sony and soon became a name to drop.

Amsterdam -

Formed 1998 and led by former Pele singer Ian Prowse and the talented and stunning Genevieve on vocals/guitar/flute, this band are irresistible, gorgeous and know just how to rock out. They impressed Elvis Costello so much he promptly asked them to play live with him, while their appearance on The Janice Long Show prompted her largest listener response ever as recent release 'Love Phenomenon' hit No 1 in the Peoplesound charts. Good for music and good for the soul.

Tift Merritt -
