Indie-funk five piece The Foals, who make an irresistible blend of electronic-pop, dirty disco and pulsating indie-tech. Punked up, funked out and most definitely music to get down and boogie to. '…one of the hottest new bands in indie - they deserve your immediate and total adulation.' - NME

Fronted by pianist Ben Folds, formerly of Ben Folds Five, the band has a snazzy sense of popcraft with some neat lyrics to boot. Ben's piano keys are just as often pounded with sneakered feet as mesmerisingly swift fingers. Awesome.

Joe Lean is just one of the alter egos of Joe Beaumont, the drummer from The Pipettes, aka actor Joe Van Moyland. The Jing Jang Jong are set to be his most successful project with their brand of catchy indie-pop. Definitely one to watch out for at a small venue before they become huge!

Smart electronic emo pop, from a band who have a knack for mixing old and new. An enthusiastic gigwise.com review of their first record read- 'A debut that sounds like an entire branch of HMV on one disc. Cramming 19th century accordion next to bang-up-to-date synth zaps, they've divided the album into two halves: the first futuristic, the second nostalgic. Yet all the while they stay cohesive enough to provide some three minute gems of kitchen sink emo-pop'.

Coventry trio The Enemy have been kicking up a storm with their anthemic rock and Kasabian-esque rock'n'roll. Born out of sessions messing about in their bedrooms, the band were cult heroes before they were even signed. Now on Stiff Records, they've been supporting The Paddingtons and The Futureheads and playing across the country at NME's coveted club nights.

New York band Vampire Weekend rather oddly, but rather delightfully, combine African rhythms and Peter Gabriel-esque vocals with an urban, punkish tone. They describe themselves as specialist is the styles of Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, Upper West Side Soweto, Campus, and Oxford Comma Riddim.' As they themselves suggest, they have to be heard to be believed.

Generating rock music of the thoughtful, sometimes epic, often loud, vaguely danceable, implicitly humanist variety.

Great hip hop outfit making the kind of stuff that De La Soul, Jurassic 5 and Black Eyed Peas would be proud of. They're old skool, they're slick and they're funky as hell.
