Irvine Welsh

Born in 1961 in Muirhouse, Edinburgh he migrated to London to join the punk scene before returning to Scotland in the 80's. His first published book was a collection of short stories entitled 'The Acid House'. That was followed by 'Trainspotting' which launched his career and earned him a booker nomination. His subsequent works: 'Ecstasy', 'Filth' and 'Glue' have all recieved similar acclaim. His latest book called 'Porno', revisits the characters of 'Trainspotting'.
