A Silent Film formed out of the ashes of the reasonably good Shouting Myke in September 2004. Having shed two members and gained one the band set about writing music to which people would be irresistibly attracted. They then spent eighteen months relentlessly recording and writing new songs. A handful of live shows mostly played to local audiences served as a platform to test their rapidly evolving taste for something a little bit different. In August 2006 A Silent Film took their entire studio to Fruges, France. There, two months were spent writing and recording, with eighteen songs complete they return to Oxford with all guns blazing. Not only does the band pride themselves on the quality of song writing, but also in their live presentation. Exciting light shows and an ever more engaging live performance have become a trademark of the band, something that really must be seen to be believed.
