More Information

The Cribs -

A tight trio from Wakefield, Yorkshire. They have combined a natural pop sensibility with a love of rock and roll, and produced a slew of thrilling well written songs in the process. At gigs these songs are delivered with real passion, and the band always puts on a good show.

Adam Green (1) -

Green may share the lovable mope look - slight build, shaggy hair and a thrift-store wrinkle - of the New York rock scene, but, musically, he stands apart, churning out anti-folk that is so anti-folk, it's more like nursery rhymes inspired by Leonard Cohen and the Rolling Stones.

Cajun Dance Party -

London five-piece making driving indie-pop. 'Their music - Belle and Sebastian with backbone - is so good, so fully formed, and liable to make confirmed grouches dance like loons, that the dates on their birth certificates are irrelevant, other than to make you wonder what a band this great now is capable of.' - The Times

Hadouken! -

London/Leeds-based grime hybrid being touted as 'the next Klaxons'. 'They sound angry, they sound smart and they sound like something you'll be hearing a lot more of in the coming months' - NME.

Lightspeed Champion -

Devonte Hynes of Test Icicles fame with new band Lightspeed Champion, making a genre-defying fusion of country, indie, lo-fi and experimental indie to produce something rather moving, powerful and sweet.

Pendulum (2) -

Formed in 2002 by three people from Australia, Pendulum create intelligent drum & bass, a sound that has dancefloor impact but also a deeper resonance. Their seminal single 'Vault' won Knowledge Magazine's 'Best Single of 2003' award, they now also work with Adam F and DJ Fresh under the umbrella - Breakbeat Kaos. Their DJ sets consist of fresh tunes, big beats and twisting basslines. The future of drum & bass...?

The Music -

Originally formed in 1999, The Music are one of the most enduring bands on the indie scene. Influenced by the Madchester groups of the late eighties and early nineties, with a definite leaning towards the Oasis breed of loud, sleazy rock'n'roll, The Music have managed to survive the onslaught of newer, more crisp indie bands by staying just exactly as they are.

Yeasayer -

Brookland-based psychedelic/alternative/indie/soul band made up of Anand Wilder, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton and Luke Fasano. '...wandering, dream-adelic arrangements with a starry-eyed affection for retro-rock of the 1970s – think the Fleetwood Macs of this world, alongside a smattering of other plastic-sleeved LPs you might have flicked through as a kid while your dad's back was turned.' - Drowned In Sound.
