Babyshambles -

After his first rise to fame with The Libertines in early 2000, co-lead-singer Pete Doherty went on to create Babyshambles. Initially a side-project during time-out from The Libertines, Babyshambles have become a band in their own right since his permanent departure from his former band. Known for their chaotic and frenzied live shows and somewhat overshadowed by media interest in Pete Doherty's personal life, Babyshambles have released several top 10 singles and have become a vehicle for Doherty's poetic, rambling, and heartfelt songwriting.

The Duke Spirit -

Post-punk five-piece fronted by the enigmatic Leila Moss. With a definitive ‘don’t-give-a-damn’ attitude, The Duke Spirit simply ooze cool in the geeky unknowing way that Sonic Youth or The Velvet Underground did before them. Duke Spirit’s sound is a more modern, up-to-date version of their predecessors angsty guitar led punk, but there are certainly comparison’s to be made – in Leila’s drawling vocals and the bands thrashing guitars. The Duke Spirit are the kind of band that will make music history, maybe not for doing anything big, but simply for being around and making the kind of quality music that will stick in the minds of music fans for years to come.

The Wombats -

Quirky Liverpudlian trio making indie based pop-rock. Influenced by the likes of Arcade Fire and The Beach Boys, The Wombats make driving indie-pop, backed up by catchy tunes and up-beat melodies that consistently teeter on the edge of the bizarre and the brilliant. ‘…tight as hell and with an ear for quirky melodies that defies belief.’ – GigWise

Vampire Weekend -

New York band Vampire Weekend rather oddly, but rather delightfully, combine African rhythms and Peter Gabriel-esque vocals with an urban, punkish tone. They describe themselves as specialist is the styles of Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, Upper West Side Soweto, Campus, and Oxford Comma Riddim.' As they themselves suggest, they have to be heard to be believed.
