More Information

Kaiser Chiefs -

Five indie pop kids from Leeds who in less than two years went from self-financing their first single to getting signed by Universal and becoming the darlings of the British music press. The infectious enthusiasm of their music and the unique viewpoint of their lyrics has seen them compared to Franz Ferdinand, Blur, The Clash, and Madness, but their passionately dedicated fans know that this band are true originals.

Deus -

An alt.rock band from Antwerp, who were one of the most interesting indie acts of the nineties. Formed in 1994, they quickly went about producing a distinctive body of work that reflected a vast range of influences, setting them apart from many other alternative acts of the time. Despite numerous line-up changes and a five year hiatus the group are back, ready to remind the world of their creative power.

Kate Nash -

Like a cross between Amy Winehouse and Lilly Allen, only with more balls, Kate Nash makes trashy kitchen-sink pop with hints of Regina Spektor and Tori Amos. '…the quintessential suburban teen female with a gutful of gripes about bad boyfriends and even worse girlfriends...' – Guardian Unlimited

The Courteeners -

Manchester's The Courteeners both look and sound as though they've come straight out of another time and place, and yet, somehow, are bang up to date. Think Babyshambles meets The Smiths and you'll be somewhere close to their gritty, electrifying sound. 'NME strongly advises that you do put your life in the hands of this rock 'n' roll band'.

The Pigeon Detectives -

The Leeds-based Pigeon Detectives play an exciting blend of rock'n'roll born out of a love for classic rock music and the indie rock of the 1990s. 'Perfect fodder for indie fans who like to jump up and down as if it's 1995, this band's crunching guitar is simple but effective' says Camden Evening News, reflecting quite accurately the Pigeon Detectives' ethos- to play exciting music to packed out venues.

The Raconteurs (1) -

The Raconteurs are a new band made up of old friends Jack Lawrence (bass), Patrick Keeler (drums), Brendan Benson (guitars, vocals, keys) and Jack White (guitars, vocals, keys). While each of these four individuals have had successful careers with their own bands, the culmination of all of their talents is what truly makes The Raconteurs a force to be reckoned with.

The Subways -

An alt-rock band from Welwyn Garden City. They first came to the attention of the wider world when they were picked by Michael Eavis to play at Glastonbury. Hype has been surrounding them in the wake of that performance, and judging by the relentless urgent energy and polished songwriting they are able to conjure up, it seems justified.

We Are Scientists -

Generating rock music of the thoughtful, sometimes epic, often loud, vaguely danceable, implicitly humanist variety.
