More Information

British Sea Power

British Sea Power -

British Sea Power are Yan, Noble Hamilton, Woody and Eamon. The band began life in Cumbria, 2001, and after a few relocations gained an enormous reputation in Brighton and then Europe, as tour supports to such greats as Interpol and The Flaming Lips. By the end of 2004, they were known worldwide, receiving acclaim as 'the best band in Britain' (Sunday Times) and attaining the Time Out award for Live Band Of The Year. It's quite remarkable that in this short time, BSP have established themselves as one of Britain's most noteworthy bands.

Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal -

Underground dance master who stunned the UK garage scene with his debut album 'Boy In Da Corner' and single 'I Luv U' in 2003, both of which warped the sound into something dark, disturbing and deliciously innovative. The addition of the 2003 Mercury Music prize may be the first accolade of many.

Mystery Jets

Mystery Jets -

'Perfectly formed pop' (Bugbear). A band who manage to do something new with the rock sound. Their music is unusual and boundary pushing, but luckily they have the technical prowess to pull it off, sometimes mastering kitchen utensils as well as more standard instruments.

Super Furry Animals (SFA)

Super Furry Animals (SFA) -

As Wales' favourite psychedelic popsters, the Super Furry Animals have inspired a whole generation of artists since their emergence in the mid-nineties. Recording in both English and Welsh, they changed the way that many thought about the language, whilst producing some of the finest summery Beach Boys-inspired indie to have surfaced in the last two decades.

The Long Blondes

The Long Blondes -

Kitchen sink New Wave and dilettante pop. 'Comprising of three girls and two boys, The Long Blondes blend both musical and stylistic influences of The New York Dolls and early Roxy Music, with the choppy rhythms, determination and feminista attitude of The Slits.' (dotdashclub)

Maupa

Maupa -

Maupa are a gang of lifelong friends just into their twenties, who exist in a dreamy, head-spinning orbit around the reality of North West life. They also produce some of the most beautiful, soul-drenched guitar music you are likely to hear and in David Boon have one of the most distinctive vocalists around.

The Bookhouse Boys -

9-piece surf/psych band.
