More Information

Neil Young (1) -

Acclaimed as one of the most important composers and performers of all time, Neil Young could almost be two artists in one body. His work ranges from the beautiful and moving folk sounds he has produced as a solo artist and with Crosby, Stills and Nash to the powerful and energetic rock which has often been the result of his collaboration with Crazy Horse and which earned him the nickname 'the Godfather of Grunge'.

guiLLeMoTs -

Epic, tuneful music, as bizarre as it is beautiful, guiLLeMoTs take the audience on a journey through a melting pot of synth, strings and jazz breaks with an overlying melody that breaks your heart and rouses, all at the same time. As odd as the Flaming Lips, but as sweet as Elbow, guiLLeMoTs are quirky, experimental and vastly entertaining to watch.

Laura Marling -

Painfully honest and hauntingly beautiful acoustic folk-pop from Reading's Laura Marling. 'Lyrics that carry an Eastenders-like weight of the world way beyond her...years, and a voice to lift hearts with its chestnut croak and rich, soaring, Emmy Lou-Harris tones.' - Drowned In Sound

My Morning Jacket -

Epic Sounds from the Big Country with a pocketful of soul and sanctified song. Kentucky quintet, My Morning Jacket are an experimental country rock outfit who play equal parts Southern Blues, Americana and dreamy psychedelica, a journey of reverb-drenched melodies, velvet melancholy lyrics and instrumentation that combines old country swagger with classic pop sentimentality.

Primal Scream -

Bobby Gillespie and Co have come a long way in over a decade together, the ambient indie rock sound of 'Screamadelica' becoming something far darker and experimental with the recent 'Exterminator'. Whatever they record, their sheer class is always undeniable.

Rufus Wainwright -

With wonderfully romantic lyrics and inspired orchestral flourishes, Montreal-born Rufus Wainwright is unique among the artists of his generation for his lush, theatrical pop sound. The son of folk luminaries Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, Rufus was nominated for a Juno as Most Promising Young Artist, while his 'I'm A-Runnin' was concurrently nominated for a Genie for Best Song in a Film.

Supergrass -

Back in 1994, this then teenage trio released their debut 'Caught by the Fuzz' and quickly followed it with a string of infectious, energetic anthems including 'Alright', which reached number two in the UK charts. With songs about meeting girls, smoking dope, and generally being young, the band seemed to provide the perfect backdrop to the Summer. Those looking for some Brit-pop nostalgia more than ten years on need look no further than one of Supergrass' forthcoming live gigs. All together: 'We are young, we run green'...

Everest -

Everest is a group of Los Angeles music community alumni and friends who decided to create music together. 'If you distilled Dark Side of the Moon, Pet Sounds, and Revolver into a glass and poured it over the California surf, it would probably sound like this...' - All Music Guide
