More Information

Kaiser Chiefs -

Five indie pop kids from Leeds who in less than two years went from self-financing their first single to getting signed by Universal and becoming the darlings of the British music press. Since their formation in 2005, life-long friends Roy, Greg and Pete have become one of the most talked about new bands on the scene. The Courteeners -

Manchester's The Courteeners both look and sound as though they've come straight out of another time and place, and yet, somehow, are bang up to date. Think Babyshambles meets The Smiths and you'll be somewhere close to their gritty, electrifying sound. 'NME strongly advises that you do put your life in the hands of this rock 'n' roll band'.

The Rifles (2) -

London four-piece making heavy rock 'n' roll inspired by the likes of The Clash, Dylan and The Rolling Stones. Citing influences as far reaching as The Smiths and The Streets, their sound is heavily sixties mod yet thoroughly modern. Sharp vocals, quick-witted songs, rolling guitars and a crucial hint of ska coming from their tighter than tight rhythm section make The Rifles the perfect London soundtrack.

The View (1) -

Shimmering indie-rock from this youthful Scottish four-piece. The View make the kind of music that Primal Scream and The Charlatans would be proud of - clashing guitars, swirling melodies, unexpected crescendos and psychedelic vocals. 'At last Scotland finds its own grotty underbelly being given a rabid, celebratory pop summation.' - NME.

The Zutons -

From Liverpool UK with a glam-rock-boogie-vibe, this band are from the same stable that produced The Coral. However their second album "Tired Of Hanging' Around", showcases a new, heavier, beefier sound. Expect an improved, confident musicianship of five people with more soul than previously demonstrated on their debut record, during which they were still finding their feet. Frustrated but energised, jet-lagged yet raring to go, The Zutons are back with a big, ballsy album brimming with urgent saxophone and meaty riffs; swampy rhythms and pop to jump around to.
