Formed by former Deep Purple vocalist David Coverdale in 1978, Whitesnake remains very much a Coverdale-led project. After a hiatus while Coverdale worked on other projects, Whitesnake re-emerged from hibernation in 1997 with a new line-up and yet more hit albums.
