When the Electric Palace was built in Bridport in 1926 it was hailed as the largest cinema in Dorset, boasting 400 seats. The popularity of the Palace was without competition and welcomed hundreds of people through its deco doors every week. It was heartbreaking when the Electric Palace closed its doors to the public in 1999 and left an empty void in local entertainment. However, after years of closure, the Palace has now reopened to the same level of success and public excitement as when it originally opened and once again attracts weekly audiences in their hundreds! But now, with the addition of two bars and a dance floor, the Palace not only offers latest release films, but also brings the biggest and best names in stand-up comedy from London every month to the biggest comedy club in Dorset - Electric Comedy Club, as well as hosts the UKs best cabaret and famous live bands! As well as having a growing reputation for entertainment, the EP is also being hailed as having the areas most prestigious art exhibitions, with artists booking exhibition space months in advance.

Have Your Say
Thie venue is a really nice little place, watching comedy or music there feels relly intimate because of the size but it does have two bars! It used to be an old cinema/theatre and holds about 400 people. Jon from Whitford
