I have been to Birmingham Town  Hall several times since it has been remodernised. Thanks to our local historian, carl chinn, who was afraid the town hall would just be left to deteorate, he did a marvellous job of getting the town hall  into the way it is now. Well worth a visit.
A pub for a nice meal at a fair price is the Duke of Windsor, just off New Street, in Cannon Street.
