Wednesday is the New Friday at Proud
Proud Camden celebrates as credit-crunch defying figures come through for Wednesdays, proving the appetite for live-music and entertainment is not waning.
An abundance of innovative promoters with unique entertainment, in conjunction with high- calibre performances means that Wednesdays have become the new Fridays at Proud.
The last four weeks have seen consistently high footfall every Wednesday, and with an unusual mixture of promoters throughout June and July, with August set to continue the trend. Last month The Factory, Narrow Minded Social Club, Rif Raf and Sunday Best brought such diverse acts as Zane Lowe and The Rifles to the haloed cobbles. The trend is set to continue into throughout August...
August 5th will see Sunday Best come back to Proud, as hosted by Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank, as he presents this pre-Bestival celebration. This left-field club night sees mash up of reggae and dub fuelled fun hit Camden, with Kanye West's protégé and man of the Moment Mr Hudson taking to the decks.
The Rock a Hula take the helm on Wednesday 12th August, the 1950s pioneers with a cult following who brought swing back to mainstream. The Rifles come back after their inaugural smash-hit event, with the Narrow Minded Social Club on August 19th, where they provide a platform for their fans and peers alike.
The Factory rounds off the month on Wednesday August 26th inspired by the ethos of Andy Warhol's loft nicknamed the 'Factory', they create an atmosphere reminiscent of the place where art and music first collided.
Alex Proud said of Wednesday's success "The consistent quality and variety of events here is something we're very proud of and something our customers have come to expect".

Altsounds:""They endeavour to be that little bit more political, to make a little bit more of a statement than your average indie group, and if you like your music rife with restlessness and encrypted with all sorts of hidden meaning then you're gonna fall on your knees fast for "Strike Sparks Anywhere". Gorgeously gated beats and fashionable clanging guitar soundscapes... This is Radio Freedom have the balls to make a big deal of every musical idea and exude enough confidence to do their own thing without conforming to any underground-scene stereotypes."
