The Oasis is a leisure centre so is not on par with the Brixton Academy and other great venues. It is the only venue Swindon can offer at the moment. Views of the stage from the back are non existent as the floor is not raked. You need to get right to the front to see anything. Not a good venue to watch bands. Better venue for sit down comedy events.

It's been a few years since I saw a gig at The Oasis, so things may have changed, but, unsurprisingly, the venue was designed for playing sports in, not listening to music. We weren't able to take drinks inside the hall, and I suspect the nearby railway station would have had better acoustics. It's a shame that a town the size of Swindon doesn't have a more suitable venue for large gigs.
