when the mighty boosh did their last tour, i saw them at the brighton dome and was knocked out by the show, so i decided to book for a further show later that year. as they'd got a bit bigger and more famous in just those few months, they were booked to play the brighton centre. crikey, what a difference a venue makes! the dome was warm, welcoming, friendly, human: the centre was impersonal, cavernous, cold, overpriced. i could go on. how they ever got away with building such a monstrosity i'll never know. they're now wanting to knock it down and rebuild. they would do well to look to the old dome for inspiration!
