The coal Excahange is a fantastic venue situated in the Cardiff Docks area, now know as Cardiff Bay, the venue closed it's doors a few years back and rumours were rife that it was to be `developed' into more excutive appartments... as there appears to be a distinct lack of them in this area (!!). Thankfully this was not to be and this late nineteenth / early twentieth century building is to re-open it's doors to gig goers once more. I have seen a few supurb shows as diverse as Rodrigo y Gabriella proving the superb acoustics of the venue and The Undertones showing that a good rockin' humdinger of a band can fill the hall with a great live band sound.

ah thank god its opening again. absolutely brill venue so enjoyed seeing southside johnny. alabama 3, and the late arthur love to name but a few at this great place !!!

Wow. Okay, I wasn't expecting that. I went to see them knowing a lot about Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and a little or nothing about the other members of the band. And what a pleasant surprise it was. During the three hour set every member of the band, including the drummer, showed their skills as accomplished multi instrumental musicians, each taking a turn in the spotlight. The range and abilities, and in particular the vocal talents displayed was amazing to behold.
