Shows are good but why Oh why do your team keep the house lights on during overtures so that the uneducated audiences sit and gabble through what should normally be important and enjoyable parts of the performance.
This happens almost everytime we attend
Sound generally best in balcony seats, but can be very hit and miss. In house PA system doesn't provide a consistent output/ sound level through venue and suffers with clipping & distortion. Typical imbalance is painfully loud and distorted in the stalls and quiet at the back balcony.
Major touring groups will bring along their own PA and anywhere should be fine.
Venue could do with some TLC; very little has been spent on the venue to modernise it due to plans for its eventual replacement. As a result, fixtures and fittings are starting to look a bit shabby. Some seating is in a state of disrepair.
Maintained seating is quite uncomfortable after a while. All soft furnishings tired & flattened leading to numb bum syndrome.
Parking for matinee shows can be extortionate courtesy of NCP. Some groups set up a reduced/ fixed price parking deal with NCP, but will still cost you £3 on top of tickets. Flat rate parking @£2 available after 6pm.
