Newcastle City Hall is a great venue for concerts. The atmosphere is always electric.
The City Hall has it's own bar which opens at 6 pm on event nights. It has a capacity of around 2000, so you don't end up miles away from the stage. The stall seating is not tiered, though balcony seating is.
The stage is very high, so you may have a slightly restricted view if you are in the front row, though I've always managed. Some people prefer to be further back to see more of the stage.
Nearby bars include Luckies and the Pacific Bar. A little further down the street next to the Haymarket metro station is Old Orleans where you can order food. There is also Frankie and Bennys near the city hall but I wouldn't recommend the food there and it is expensive.
Nearest hotel is the Premier Inn West Bridge Street. It is reasonably priced and lovely inside, being just a short walk from Newcastle City Hall.
Doors usual open about 7 pm. To avoid queuing you can get there at 6 and chill in the bar.
This is a very good place to go to see any artists as it has plenty of room and staff are very friendly i found that when i went to see Colin Fry after show we were allowed to take photos and get autographs as i am disabled they brought me to the front so i would not have to stand to long for his autograph which i though was very good of them to do that as there was a lot of people also waiting.
