Sheffield Arena, now called Motorpoint Arena, was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen on 31st May 1991, around 900,000 people attended events at the Arena each year.

The £34 million building was constructed in time to host the World Student Games, and is in use for around 200 days every year, hosting concerts, ice shows, theatre style shows, ice hockey, sport, exhibitions and conferences.

The Arena can accommodate audiences from a theatre style 3,500 up to a 13,600 capacity making it the regions biggest capacity indoor Arena.

The Steel Hall is a venue housed within the Motorpoint Arena main hall, with a fixed capacity of 4,000 seated or 4,500 standing.
