Hailing from Santa Barbara, USA, Devildriver is a heavy metal band featuring lead vocalist Dez Fafara from Coal Chamber. Having now released four studio albums, the latest 'Pray For Villains' released July 2009, finds Devildriver rocking as brutally as ever, with the rhythm section of drummer John Boecklin and bassist Jon Miller pummeling the listener into submission. While the guitar tag-team of Jeff Kendrick and Mike Spreitzer let fly with one nasty riff and incendiary solo after another. The album is more technical and straightforward than anything Devildriver has done in the past, but there's also an additional emphasis on maintaining the groove and dynamics of the songs. Themes of self-reliance, hard work and positive energy, plus the band's innate love of touring is reflected on numerous album tracks.
