Headlining the Darlington Rhythm 'n' Brews festival 2009 (with special guest Spencer Davis) the Animals  were back in the north-east where their music is revered. So it wasn't suprising that a large crowd greeted John Steel, Mickey Gallagher and co. and enthusiastically sang along to all the hit numbers from the Animals back catalogue. Pete Bardons vocals are as strong and gritty as Eric Burdon's used to be Each number enthusiastically cheered and clapped as the band put on a brilliant performance. They left the best, the almost anthemic House Of The Rising Sun to last, to send the crowd away happy.

they were fantastic at the whitby 60s weekend last september.why on earth arent they 0n this year?

the animals and friends topped a great show including the mindbenders,and the shakers.they did all their hits superbly,and threw in a bit of soul too!their gritty moody sound contrasted well after the other acts.the only problem is where can we see them again?this band has got street cred with soul fans too!
