I came to his music late through the enthusiasm of a new partner and how I wish I had known about him before and grown up with him!
The songwriting is real and personal and all his experiences be they painful or joyful are addressed in the same dextrous and sometimes brutally honest, fashion.
I am not a person given to public emotion but I have to admit that when he played "Hug you like a Mountain" - I cried (albeit quietly)!
I urge anyone who likes their music challenging and thought provoking rather than the mushy pap fed to us on mainstream radio and television to make an effort to go and see Rory - you won't be sorry.
