Event Venue: The Cluny, Newcastle

Saw the mighty Stackridge at The Cluny in April - the second time the West Country wonders have played this intimate Newcastle venue. It was just as good as the first had been the previous year, and was just as well received by the Geordie faithful. Mixing old favourites from the 1970s with new tracks from the forthcoming 'A Victory for Common sense' album it was another blistering set from the eight piece band. Stackridge are a quintissentially English band that cannot be pigeon holed - and they are all the better for that. If they are in your neck of the woods miss them at your peril !
Saw Stackridge at Rondo, Larkhall, Bath in December 08, absolutely brilliant still after all these years! Great that they are back together again. Pumping out the old stuff & wonderful to hear it all again at a fab little venue. What a Gig! Long may they continue, (from whence they began!)

Saw Stackridge at Sheffield Boardwalk in October 08 loved them in the 70s when I was 16, love them still as an old giffer. Brill to see them back together at a cracking venue. What a bonus for May 2009 as theyre back again, same venue, same time, just turn up have a beer n smile
I have recently been priveleged to hear a pre-release airing of Stackridge's new album A Victory For Common Sense (release date July 13th). It is awesome. Quite the best thing Stackridge have done, and brilliantly produced by Chris Hughes. Song writing of the highest order, backed by muscianship more than equal to the job. Remember when you rushed to the record shop to buy the latest Beatles album (assuming your old enough) ? By the end of the day, you couldn't get the songs out of your head. They were that good. A Victory For Commons Sense has had the same effect on me. I cannot recommend it highly enough. See them live at the earliest opportuniy. You won't be disappointed.
