What can anyone say about the legendary MacGowan. His sheer genius as a songwriter and balladeer is unsurpassed. I have seen him many times, man and boy, drunk and dry and he never fails to be the entertainer. To be elsewhere at xmas when MacGowan's in town is a stupid thing to do. For xmas is not the same without Shane singing the fairytale of new york.
