Coming out of the US rock scene in the '90s, Alice in Chains were hard enough to be respectable for a metal fans yet textured and melodic enough to entice the alternative crowd. Following the death of lead singer Layne Staley, Alice In Chains took a break, but reformed in 2005 with a new vocalist, William DuVall and are set to record their first new material in over 13 years. Jerry Cantrell is still the driving force behind the band, his influence remaining strong with overlapping vocal lines, down tuned dramatic blues riffs and punctuated power chords.
