Queuing in the rain was very apt for this evening! We were all waiting to watch Travis live at The Pyramids Centre, Portsmouth.
The band came on at 9:15 and played thru to 11pm. They steamed straight into 3 new tracks from their latest album Ode To J Smith before playing their catalogue of anthems. What you seem to forget is just how many great songs they have! The crowd couldn’t get enough of hit after hit from this fantastic band. What was evident, and very pleasing was the fact that the band was having so much fun up there! You could clearly see them smiling and enjoying the atmosphere they had created, which was good to see. The songs were excellent. Side, Sing, Driftwood, Turn etc as well as a few special oldies thrown in. Standout moments for me were ReOffender and Closer.
Towards the end they added a bit of spice. An unorthodox version of I Kissed A Girl by Fran & Andy actually worked! then the rest of the band came on, gathering around the mic for Flowers In The Window. They finished on, none other than, Why Does It Always Rain On Me? which had the crowd rocking. Then we all left and went back into the drizzle!
Fantastic show, fantastic band. You must go see them. They play their hearts out! Oh and I caught Dougie’s plectrum which made me extra happy!

TRAVIS WERE TRULY AWESOME , DOING A MIX OF OLD CLASSICS AND NEW MATERIAL . THE VENUE IS SMALL AND INTIMATE AND TRAVIS SEEMED GENUINELY TO ENJOY THEMSELVES . I KNOW I DID AND CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I GET THE CHANCE TO SEE THEM LIVE AGAIN .

Can't remember the exact date we saw Travis live but it was about 2 years ago and they were brilliant!
We managed to get fairly close to the front which was good and they let the crowd singalong and really interacted with everyone which made the atmosphere so much better. Would love to see them again in concert!
