Pains of Being Pure at Heart followed Hatcham Social at the Big Top on the final day of the Isle of Wight festival. Admittedly, I hadn’t heard of them before Tim Burgess had announced the Big Top line up. Having said this I believe that they are one of the best musical discoveries I have made this year. Their sweet melodies and ‘twinkly’ synth sounds come together perfectly.
