I really love going to see bands at the 12 bar club- it never matters if there is no-one you have heard of on the line-up, its always great! The stage is really tiny and perfect for a lone singer-songwriter, although I have seen 10 piece bands jostling for space on there in the past. You can stand in the bottom bar where there is room for about 25 people, or go and sit upstairs where you can fit about 12 so its pretty intimate!! They tend to lean towards blues/country/americana type stuff but really anything goes and its just a a brilliant place to see live music close up. Its just 2 mins from Tottenham Court Road tube in the street with all the guitar shops, so there is Bradley's Spanish bar for drinks beforehand, or maybe a cheap bowl of Soba noodles off Soho Square - hmm! Every night of the week there seems to be live music and i have never had a bad nght there yet. [less]
