Surprisingly a fair few people were at The Thekla in time to catch thecocknbullkid's support set for CSS. And they were in for a treat!
I hadn't heard of thecocknbullkid before, but it would appear that some of the early attendees had. Funky and catchy music was what was on offer, and I will be going back for seconds when thecocknbullkid is anywhere near the South West Region. I would urge anyone to listen to thecocknbullkid's music on MySpace. Sadly "Boys And Girls" and "I'm Not Sorry" aren't on there as I write, but "On My Own" and "No Cure" are and they should get you hooked!
thecocknbullkid influences as per their MySpace account include Morrissey, Scissor Sisters, Beyonce and Kelis, and for me that pretty much sums up what I heard in the lyrics and style of music of what I have constantly listened to for over a month now!
I actually didn't manage to catch thecocknbullkid's name when they took to the stage but my lengthy search was well worth the wait! I e-mailed The Thekla to ask them for it, so thanks to them for letting me know, and when I was told of their name, I went on to their MySpace and listened to all of their tracks reliving the previous night.
It was a short set, but very enjoyable, and thecocknbullkid was the perfect starter for the main course of CSS! [less]

He was absolutely fantastic, What I liked about him was the fact that he acknowledged his Fans all the way through his performance . He made you feel like you was his friend by the end of the show.
There was no hairs and graces about him he came across a good honest person.
His band and backing singers where also fantastic.
This is a show not to be missed by any Billy Ocean fan past or present.
And what a mover he can surely dance the night away.
My hands where stinging at the end of the night never stopped applauding him.
It was a seating venue, we didn't do much sitting he had everyone on their feet. We came away feeling so happy and that it was money very well spent.
I was disappointed with only one thing, There was no program to buy, would of been nice to keep.
Hope to see him back at Bolton soon.
BRING HIM BACK.
I recommend you all buy a ticket and have a fantastic night out. [less]
