I am lucky enough to live in the San Francisco Bay Area and was able to witness the Classics of Love premier show. After the initial shock of being in the presence of punk legend Jesse Michaels, one is overwhelmed with high energy drums and treble blaring guitars. By no means is their music dated, but seeing them live is like taking a step back in time to the golden age of punk rock. An environment of pure energy sans the trendy high school crowd. Jesse's vocals still carry the rough OpIvy tone that we all know and love. If your a down and out punk fan sick of the same old popfest, Classics of Love will not let you down. [less]
Recommendation for
Subgiant
by Remember from Central London
I saw Subgiant at Bestival last year and they blew the roof off, well off a tent anyway. They are a live 3 piece electro band but they rock. Live drums, decks and guitars/keyboards mixing up breaks and dub with bits of Metallica and all sorts, quality. One of the... [more]

I saw the JB conspiracy support Rancid a week or so ago. They were really good . Their music just makes the audience skank like mad . Their set was way too short. Lots of the crowd had travelled down just to hear them and the "toilet conversation poll" confirmed that they had gone down really well. I own their cd which is always on in my car so I am already brainwashed by their music which helps to understand the lyrics cos without having heard the tracks a few times it is hard to make out what "lank" is saying -the lyrics are really fast! If yoiu havn't seen these guys before they are really worth checking out. [less]

The Specials @ Pavilions - November 5, 2009
by Oli S
This was an amazing gig! There was such a buzz around the arena before the gig and the place was in pandemonium when the band came on. I wasn't prepared to skank with so many skinheads, the sweat was pouring and the voice became husky but it was truly brilliant!... [more]
