Cradle of filth arent my usual kind of music but i was intrested in seeing them live as i was impressed by what i had heard and being honest they have to be one of the best bands i have seen live.... they had a good show. Even though it was way too hot and it was the last day of the festival i really enjoyed seeing them.. they had a performer up on the stage with them doing acrobatics or sumit on ropes hangign down from the stage n it was amazing!!!! and danny filths voice live .... wow.... well worth going to see. Recommendation for Joe Satriani
by David from Letham Grange

Saw him in Glasgow in the summer, took my guitar mad grandson and he was brilliant, awe inspiring.
Endless solos without a loud drummer drowning out the finer detail of his playing. Has a pretty good bass player in the line up too.

Event Date: October 25, 2008
Event Venue: Nottingham - Rock City

I attended FireFest V.Jeff (JSS as he now prefers) was the main attraction for me. It is really sad that he is not better known in England as this restricts his opportunities to perform over here. I have been actively researching this man and his many projects for the last six years since I saw him perform at the Queen fan club convention in 2003. he wowed an audience of die hard Queen fans with his amazing voice, showmanship, charisma and versatility (and lets remember these people were fans of Freddie Mercury one of the greatest showmen of our time.) I have been amazed by the quality and diversity of his back catalogue. He deserves greater recognition.

FireFest was no different. He attended with the JSS band who are all excellent musicians in their own right and gave us a taste of his new album "Beautiful mess" (available for download from itunes or CD baby) which is yet another diversion for Jeff from his many previous styles. In addition he gave marvellous insights into his previous triumphs with work from his earlier bands Talisman and Eyes as well as his famous light hearted disco/funk routine from his stint with the Boogie Knights.

Bands were limited to just over an hour to perform. Jeff used his time brilliantly and gave the crowd superb entertainment. He is known as one of the hardest working men in music and one who treats his fans really well. This shone out from his performance as he was clearly having the best time and made sure everyone else did. The crowd loved him despite his frequent diversion into music styles different from that which the festival was about.

If you get chance do yourself a favour and look at some of this mans work on uTube but especially try and see him live. He is a killer performer and you wont be sorry. JSS rocks!!! [less]
