This was a stunning show, very well received by an enthralled audience. The three musicians (violin, guitar, double bass) gave a  display of integrated virtuousity, delivered with energy, passion and humour. There were elements of country, swing, jazz and even classical music in the mix, ranging from standards through novelty numbers to original material. The excellent soloing and vocals, underpinned by driving slap bass and brilliant chord work on guitar, and combined with a winning stage presence, was irresistible. Please come back soon! [less]

Willie puts on a fantastic concert. I have seen him live 4 times in Dublin.  Each concert was better than the previous if that is possible.   Each concert had something new to add even if he sang most of the same songs each time. Even though he is now 75 years old his concerts are worth going to.  His age doesn`t take anything away from his performance.  I would highly recommend him. Lots of artists have recorded his music but unless you have been to see Willie live you can not really appreciate his music. Haveing said that I have I believe every song he ever recorded. [less]

I first saw Steve Gibbons at the Marquee in London back in the 70's. I remember that he was being promoted by Keith Moon (the Who's drummer) and at the end of the set he came and stood next to me in the audience cheering wildly before lunging up onto the stage to gee up the audience before the encore... ah a proud moment. I saw Steve a few more times and they were some of the best gigs ever... In fact his live "Caught in The Act" is still a classic live album and well worth checking out... especially Tulane... utterly brilliant!
I still see him when I get the chance and though he may have done away with the black leathers and may be sporting a few more grey hairs these days his gritty voice and passionate performance never fails to get the audience rockin'.
If you've never seen him then do... it's not too late! Go see one of the true legends of the British R&B world and if you don't end up having a great night then go see your doc in the morning 'cos I think you need help! [less]
