Live Review of
Black Stone Cherry @ O2 Academy Oxford - October 24, 2009
by JaneyG
Loved it. How could you not enjoy watching 4 blokes who seem to be having the time of their lives whilst making you feel like they owe it all to you personally. Third time I've seen them and will be going again. Looking forwards to a new album please.... [more]

Recommendation for
The Blues Band

Long time masters of their trade, blues bands don`t come any better than this!

Recommendation for
Loudon Wainwright III
by Michael from Gloucester
I saw Mr. Wainwright perform in Birmingham must of been 1974 with a young lady called Hazel Jean. 35 years later we still together & look a little sad & quizzical as we duet on Motel Blues & get the lyrics out of synch but still get the same buzz... [more]

Highly recommended, brilliant act, great sound similiar to Counterfeit Stones set of early stuff with authentic instruments, gear, wigs, scenery and surprise 'guest appearance'. A real fun party night.

Highly recommended, brilliant act, great sound similiar to Counterfeit Stones set of early stuff with authentic instruments, gear, wigs, scenery and surprise 'guest appearance'. A real fun party night.
Pub has two huge real ale bars but also a smaller bar in back room where bands play - perfect! Easy parking next door (multi-storey, Two Premier Inns just mile away). First time seen band but 3rd visit (Tributes to ELO, Jean Genie too) from 60 miles away - worth the trip. Fantastic venue is 95% standing. Thanks to RAW promotions who do wonderful job-see web-site. ChixwivPix are a four piece band currently based around Kent. Now gigging on a regular basis the band has a strong blues attitude, with rock and soul vibes. Lead singer Rox produces an impressive performance that can turn heads in any venue! Whilst guitairist Holly, who is an awesome guitarist, has mainly blues influences. Her meaningful guitar is inspired by artists such as Clapton, Hendrix and a range of old blues guitairists - suprising for a young female in this day and age! On the rhythm side of things Andee is a strong and funky bass player who is well known within the kent music scene, along with Rox and Marcus. Marcus is the male chick of the band!
Once you have seen this band, you want to see them again.
