Judy Shire's new single Immune to a Heartache is due for release in the USA in February 2009. This song written for Judy by Jeff Lehman is a cocktail jazz Ballard and will be followed later in the year by a new CD of original material written for Judy by Jeff. With talks in progress about a US tour in 2009 to launch the new CD it promises to be an exciting year in the US for Judy. Back in the UK there are plans for the release of two new Cd's of original songs during the year and the return of Judy to perform in the UK after spending most of 2008 performing abroad. [less]

I first heard her singing backing vocals with the Jools Holland rhythm and blues band, she has now started doing solo numbers and duets with Ruby Turner. She is an excellent Blues and gospel singer with a very strong voice for a slip of a girl. I think that she has a very big future ahead of her. I would recommend Louise to anyone who likes blues sung with emotion and spirit. [less]

If you want to see an accomplished musician play a broad spectrum of music including blues, folk, reggae and rock Andy Fairweather-Low is the artist to go and see.  I've seen him twice this year at Darwin.  Both gigs have been both entertaining with a touch of humour thrown in.  What a refreshing change it is to see a performer talk to his audience both during the performance and afterwards. I have known Ian and Morg for some time now, in fact we where friends once upon a time, in the early days when he was known as Monty Turnball and then Parkers Alibi, and we spent a lot of time together so I got to know him both on a personal bases as well as a professional bases. Although we have drifted apart due to his huge success (and I do mean success, as he is well known now both in the UK as well as Europe) and me being 50 odd now I have seen some of the best "tried and tested" performers in music including Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac (the original), The Small Faces, The Moody Blues, The Kinks, Cream, The Stones etc etc and I STILL maintain The Ian Parker Band is the best live band I have ever seen live.
I think it’s a combination of a lot of things that make him/them good listening
a) A superb guitar player and played with a deep passion
b) Always great music arrangements and harmony between Morg and Ian
c) They are always trying new things out on stage and never copying other people (doesn’t it make a change to hear original, live music played!)
I am split between wishing them well as due to their huge success we don’t get to see them for a curry and a beer anymore and yet they deserve all the admiration and success they have achieved, which of course puts them in the Above Average or Star category where we can’t get to meet up with them anymore. Best of Luck guys. [less]
