I attended Jonathan Ansell's 'A Night At The Opera' at Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall last night.
The venue is on the corner of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street next to Buchanan Galleries shopping centre.
A smart intimate venue with a seating capacity of 2475. The front row of the stalls is about 2-3 feet from the stage, and, because the stage is low you get a great view from there. There is tierd seating at the sides and up on the balcony.
The box office is situated around the the back of the hall up some huge steps. The front of the venue is opposite Buchanan Bus Station.
There is a multistorey car park adjacent to the venue/shopping centre. It's quite expensive - £15 for 9 hours. But it's only £1.20 from 6 pm uintil 11.30. It's worth driving out and back in at 6 pm if you land in Glasgow in the afternoon. I did that and save myself £6. Please note the closing time of 11.30 pm. If you plan something after the concert/event you will have to move your car elsewhere. The car park has machines that will take credit cards as well as coins and notes.
The venue has it's own little cafe, but not a huge range of food available. There is a bar opposite the venue next to the bus station, though I didn't have time to check it out. If you don't mind a 5 min walk I would recommend Wetherspoons in George Square for food.
Staff are friendly and helpful. [less]

I never grumble about the price of drink when I'm out but this place takes the Mick. We were at a gig on Sat night and we were spending a few quid at the bar but one of our company was only drinking water. As they only had tap water I assumed it would not cost but they were charging over 2 quid a glass. I would understand if a group of people came in and were only drinking water they would charge but we spent a fair few quid over the bar. Not happy at all. And I hope never to return. [less]

It is a great small intimate venue and the Glasgow crowds are always amazing.
Be careful where you choose your seat though, because if you are off to one side your view is restricted at that side of the stage due to the gigantic speakers. Try to book in the centre section.
Nearest Hotel is the Grand Plaza (previously The Marriott) which can be a bit pricey. They have a public bar and a restaurant. The City Inn is also close by and similarly priced. Cheaper accommodation can be found nearby at the Campanile Hotel, or a 5 minute walk away at The Sandyford. [less]

It was absaloutely amazing!
The stage they had was fantastic and all these effects, it was spectacular.
However during "Walk On" The sound failed for about half a minute, which was surprising for that amazing technology of the stage adn effects, but they never lost their cool once.
