Event Venue: Isle of Wight Festival
On the Sunday of the festival, Tim Burgess had curated a stage and included The Horrors in the line up. I had seen them at the Brighton Concord2 the week before and having seen them in such a small venue before hand I was sceptical about this set due to the overwhelming size of the tent. I took it all back when they started playing.
They were simply amazing. Their stage presence mixed with their own unique sound was breath-taking. Mostly playing songs from their new album 'Primary Colours' they clearly loved the reaction they received from the audience.
The Horrors are a band that could easily make it in the music industry on their sound alone. But they also put on such a show. Their on stage energy is amazing to behold. I have been a fan of theirs for years and I feel that it is about time that they receive the recognition that they deserve. [less]

Somehow Crowded House seem to get overlooked when reviews of the music of the 90's are written. This was perhaps their purple period, but they are by no means for the nostalgia bin. Crowded House are perhaps the finest purveyors of 'Beatles type' rock and pop music there ever will be. Even Paul McCartney himself, when once asked what it was like to be the finest songwriter ever, replied "I don't know, you'll have to ask Neil Finn!"
A pleasure on record, a sheer joy in concert, their Antipodean charm turns even the Albert Hall into a communal singsong round a bushfire! [less]

Event Venue: Jazz Cafe
In the 70's Judy Collins with her flowing red locks commanded the stage of a packed Royal Albert Hall with her pure voice and an amazing selction of songs.
In 2010 it is now the Jazz cafe and the locks are silver but the rest is the same.
She opened with Both Sides Now (the first song I ever heard her sing in the 60's) and closed with Amazing Grace. In between she sang an array of songs by many a song-writer (Joan Baez, Steve Goodman, Harry Chapin and Lennen & McCartney) with one or two of her own songs too!
She told stories of her family, Greenwich Village, Stephen Stills and of her new album and thrilled everyone.
Despite having a heavy cold her vocals were perfect and though her face betrays her years, her voice certainly does not.
A fantastic night listening to one of folks greatest voices. [less]

I have seen Dreamboats and Petticoats twice - once in Blackpool and once in Darlington. I see they have now extended their tour and I will definitely be going again. It's a real feel-good evening out, with great music - all played live on stage by really talented actors and musicians, a light and funny story line and loads of energy. Lots of people were singing along and some people even got up and danced in the aisles. I recommend this to anyone who likes music from the 50's and 60's, and anyone who likes music and fun! [less]

Easily the best concert I've been to. The first band I actually liked and I can enhance that statement tenfold now. Sonic Boom Six and Big D & The Kids Table got the crowd all danced-up and ready for the endless onslaught of ska/punk to come. Opening with Sell Out made the audience go wild. Being right at the front was amazing, every member of the audience around were dancing, jumping and singing along with every song they played. The setlist included crowd pleasers such as "Take On Me" and "Where Have You Been" along with lesser-known songs including "Scott's A Dork", "F*** You" and an interesting cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl". "Suburban Rhythm" and "Beer" were saved for the encore which was inevitable. Definitely worth seeing, don't miss out! [less]

My family and I saw them at Butlins,Skegness ,last year. They were absolutely brilliant! They have gained so much confidence and stage presence after the X -Factor ,and really know how to relate to the audience ,who just loved them. They sang songs that all the kids knew( so did I !)and were such fun and were having a good time ,you just can't help liking them. They signed autographs ,and had their photos taken with practically everyone, for about 2 hours ,and had a smile and a few words with us all! We are going to Butlins again this year ,so we hope to see them again. [less]

I saw this in the new theatre in Cardiff. It was great fun. There were a lot of rules however e.g. no newspapers etc but a good time was still had by all. I recommended dressing up although I would do that in a group. Not as many people dressed up as I would have expected which I think was a shame. Don't forget to get invovled with the shouts of 'slut' etc whenever 'Janet' is said. Its quite easy to pick up and join in. In total it was a fantastic event, one I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a little ricky live theatre and enjoys musicals. (date above for event is approx as I can't remember when exactly it was) [less]

Beware of immitations! I went to see this show as I had previously seen Voulez Vous who are amazing. The act which performed here however are not the original as I discovered after accessing the "real" Voulez Vous website. It's not a case of a new line up but a blatant copy cat act, which lacks the talent and energy of the original! Surely this is in breach of some legalalities?
I urge everyone to check the voulez vous.net website to check it's the real, and better act before buying any tickets. :) [less]

There was excitement. This night was also a nice relaxed atmosphere, partly because people loved the music and the venue is just brilliant for intimate gig nights. Indievous are amazing promotors, i think what they do is amazing. I think also that people who don't come to see these bands express themselves in maggie mays etc would be suprised on what good nights out they are missing. [less]

I have seen Marti in Chicago and on the Sentimental me concert - he was brilliant in both. I think he has the most melodic voice of any of the stars around.
