Internationally acclaimed actor best known for a succession of memorable film roles, including Renton in Trainspotting, the young Obi Wan Kenobi in the first three Star Wars films, Christian the writer in Moulin Rouge and Andy in Brassed Off! He is not only an actor but also an accomplished singer and musician. Although very much a top Hollywood star, he remains committed to smaller independent films and theatre. He has starred in many lower budget 'art' films and is set to return to the boards in the new musical production of Guys and Dolls in London.
