The Presidents Of The United States Of America were formed in Seattle during the post-grunge years, but their music and outlook were distinctly different from most of the bands on the Seattle alternative scene. Songs like 'Lump' and 'Peaches' displayed a unique sense of humour and were either annoyingly catchy or endearingly hummable depending on your viewpoint. They split up in 1997 but have since reformed to pursue their absurdist indie rock vision even further.
