Indigo Girls were formed in the mid-eighties and signed to Epic Records in the wake of a revived interest in folky-acoustic songwriting. In over a decade of recording this duo - aka Emily Saliers and Amy Ray - has attained a respectable degree of mainstream success, without alienating their underground following.
