The Popes -

Shane MacGowan's backing band and all round foot stompers. The Popes are hailed as being the Irish equivalent of Booker T and the MGs with their mix of contemporary folk rockin', head boppin Dublin rock. The band line-up changed after the tragic death of their formidable instrumentalist and banjo player Tom MacMannomen who was a major contributer to the band's unique sound. The current line up consists of Paul McGuinness (guitar and vocals), Will Morrison (drums), Charlie Hoskyns (guitar and vocals), Gerry Diver (fiddle, banjo, accordion, and Laurie Norwood (bass).
