Pixie Lott - so named after her fairy-like appearance as a baby - was signed to Def Jam at just fifteen years of age and her first single, 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' sold 50,000 copies soon after. This success was easily repeated with the single 'Boys and Girls', a tantalising precursor to the success of her debut album, Turn It Up - debuting at #6 on the UK Albums Chart.
