Working at the edge of jazz, contemporary classical and downtown NYC improv, Deco Heart is a unique duo featuring legendary violist Mat Maneri and acclaimed Transylvanian expat pianist Lucian Ban. The two musicians have first collaborated in the award winning third stream extravaganza Enesco Re-Imagined, a CD that appeared on many critics “Best of 2010” lists and featured a stunning group of musicians – Badal Roy, Tony Malaby, Ralph Alessi, John Hebert, Gerald Cleaver among others - in a daring re-imagining of the works of famed romanian violin virtuoso George Enescu. Lucian Ban and Mat Maneri also co- lead angels of repose a quartet featuring drummer Randy Peterson and bassist Drew Gress. In 2013 ECM will release their debut album.
