Epic and heartfelt indie-pop from Manchester group. Tinged with hints of country, folk and americana, Cherry Ghost make 'songs of staggering beauty, the best kept secret in Manchester.' - City Life. Cherry Ghost began in 2005, first as an alias for Simon Aldred as a solo artist, before morphing into a full band. Early sessions with Doves bassist and vocalist Jimi Goodwin and a special appearance on Later...with Jools Holland helped excel the band's beginnings. Cherry Ghost were one of only a handful of bands and musicians to have been invited onto Jools Holland's programme before having released any material. Cherry Ghost then signed to Heavenly Records and their debut album 'Thirst For Romance' entered the UK Albums Chart at #7. They have since gone on to receive critical acclaim in 2010 for their follow-up album, 'Beneath This Burning Shoreline'.

We saw Cherry Ghost last year at The Deaf Institute (honest) they were amazing, the venue was excellent, small friendly crowd. We arrived early so had a drink and something to eat, the guys from Cherry Ghost were all sat at the next table, chatting away to people.Simon sang some… (cont'd) Shiv from Halifax
