The legendary Manchester bassist with post punk band, Magazine and founder member of The Bad Seeds. Since 1988 Adamson has forged his own highly acclaimed solo career, with a series of distinctive and thematically linked soundscape albums and EPs. Anguished songs and poignant instrumentals, comprised of a veritable miscellany of musical styles, are deftly blended together in Adamson's hands. I saw Barry play at the Bakery in Perth, Western Australia over a year ago. Was fairly new to his music at that point. As one squeaky voice male piped up during his set 'you're the devil Barry' and it is true, he is definitely the jazz devil.
