London-born songstress Alessi Laurent-Marke called herself Alessi's Ark to avoid any confusion with the Alessi Brothers. She started drumming at the age of 11, and left school at 16 to persue her passion for music. She has supported artists such as Laura Marling, Mariee Sioux, Emilíana Torrini and Cerys Matthews. She has a beautiful crooning voice, and produces tender, melodic folk-pop.
