DJ Mag (Jan 04) praised Jafar as one of their 'Rising stars to watch out for' and there was hardly a month last year that Lottie hadn't mentioned him in her Metro Life feature for the Evening Standard. He won Muzik mag's prestigious Bedroom Bedlam comp back in 2000 and came a worthy runner-up in IDJ's reader's mix. Admirably he chooses not to rest on his laurels: 'You are only as good as your last DJ / live set, one must always strive to keep improving. I won't stop working till I've nailed the scratching to DMC standard and seen Rare Unit flown all over the world doing what we love, djing and playing our live sets to all the lovely funky people out there. I love good soulful music of all persuasions it is such a powerful unifying force'.
