Gothenburg gave birth to this power metal giant in 1993, as former Ceremonial Oath members Oscar Dronjak and Jesper Stromblad decided to bring to life a much-anticipated project. HammerFall grew to prominence throughout the 1990s with releases such as Glory To The Brave and Reneade, surviving well into the 2000s with albums like Crimson Thunder. Replacing Stefan Elmgren with Pontus Norgren in 2008, the band released Masterpieces, a compilation of cover songs.

I have always been more of a classic rock fan. But when I started seeing my boyfriend, I was introduced to power metal. I didn't listen to much of hammerfall's music before the gig. They were supported by Krokus and The Poodles, who were also phenomenal to see live. But… (cont'd) Nic from Scotland
